  Tutorial 4: Linking your Pages

So now you have created a few pages, it is important to link them to each other.

If you have chosen page layouts with built in buttons, it is a simple task to link pages together.

Start with your Home page (it might still be called Page 1 if you haven't changed it's name to 'Home.htm')

Click on the first button. You can change the wording on the button to whatever you want, and then click on the 'Link to' button, and select from the drop down list the page you want to link to. You need to do this for all the buttons.

If you want to add more buttons, click on the 'Add New' button at the side of the edit box, and an additional button will be shown with the other buttons, which you can edit as normal.

If there are too many buttons, just click on the edit button and select 'delete', and it will disappear.

When you have completeed this task on each of your pages, make sure each page is published. There will be a 'P' by the icon of each page that has been published. If there are some which are not published, click on the small box to the left of the relative pages and select 'Publish' from the left hand column, and follow the instructions.

Make a note of the URL (web address) of your home page when you publish it, and then sign off from Otter 2000 Web Builder.

Now use your browser to see the results of your work, using the web address you have made a note of. Now you can test your page links, by clicking on the buttons, and making sure that it takes you to the right page.

Make a note of any errors, and go back to the Web Builder to correct the errors.

Now you can go ahead and create as many pages as you want, keeping them all within your 'Pages' folder.

Now you are ready to Link all your pages together. Go to the next page of the Tutorial to see how. Or go back  to the previous page
